CM Punk: Straight Edge of Pro Wrestling
CM Punk has rocked his way to four Pro Wrestling Championships. He holds the Title of Ring of Honor World Champion, ECW Champion, and World Heavyweight Champion for both Raw and SmackDown.
Punk also has a World Tag Team Championship (with Kofi Kingston) and the WWE Intercontinental Championship, making him the 19th WWE Triple Crown Champion.
A champion from the start, Punk grew up watching Rowdy Roddy Piper and Jimmy Superfly Snuka, apeing their every move. His Pro Wrestling began with Lunatic Wrestling Federation, a small backyard wrestling promotion that he started with friends and his brother in the back yards of Chicago in the early 1990s. For Punk, the Promotion was more than just fun – wrestling was his passion.
Punk uses bad ass fighting styles that he learned during his world travels. Fans and Promoters noticed his Thai Kickboxing and Brazilian Jujitsu while he was with the ROH. It was these techniques that brought down the house in Philadelphia during his WWE match as Team DX at Survivor Series 2006.
After locking-up a Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania XXIV, the Straight Edge Superstar was drafted to Raw. He went on to claim the World Heavyweight Championship, bank! Although he would forfeit this title, he went on to dominance as a World Tag Team Champion and later as the Intercontinental Champion. He Punked Snitsky, John Morrison, Rey Mysterio, and William Regal along the way.
Luck is for losers.
