Matt is showing off his plan to the world with a new style. He has ditched his cargo-pant wrestling gear for old-school tights in black and blue with a key with the inscription “MH”. He does not hesitate to comment on the meaning of the key as a symbol of rage against his brother, Jeff Hardy. Matt is quoted by the WWE: “I’m going to unlock my destiny and prove that I am the superior member of the Hardy family!”
There was not always a rift in the family. As kids Jeff and Matt Hardy created their WrestleMania moves on the family’s backyard trampoline in Cameron, NC. As teens the Hardy Boyz would use a trampoline to mimic the moves of Pro Wrestling legends like Ric Flair, the Fabulous Firebirds, Sting, The Ultimate Warrior and Shawn Michaels. Jeff and Matt called themselves the Hardy Boyz. After bouncing between managers the high-flying tag team duo hired Lita, the sexy WWE Diva, to be their Manager. The three together were known as Team Xtreme. At SummerSlam the Hardy Boyz went head to head against the Dudley Bozy and Edge and Christian in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match. The Hardys lost but were later vindicated when they captured six World Tag Team Championships and a WCW Tag Team Championship. It was Jeff Hardy’s successful solo career as a WWE Superstar that forever broke the bond of Team Xteme. Matt could not contain his jealousy of his brother. He turned to Lita for comfort. Lita and Matt’s relationship was heating-up. Following Jeff’s solo success, Matt was forced to wrestle on his own. Although Matt could not deliver the acrobatic moves to the same level as his brother, he was still able to win Championship Gold in the Scramble Match for the ECW title. He also showed his power in Hardcore and the European Cruserweight Championship on Smackdown. His reign of domination would not last. With Jeff winning the Hardy family fame game things got ugly between the Boyz. In an epic “I Quit Match” Jeff forced his brother out of the business when he beat him down like Cane against Able and he forced his brother to speak the words “I quit”. To add insult to injury, Matt discovered that Lita was cheating on him with Edge. Blinded by jealousy and rage, Matt sought to destroy all in his path - sarting with is own bother. wrestling news casts reported Matt caused a high-speed car crash which could have killed Jeff Hardy. One attempt on Jeff's life was not enough. Matt was set to burn down the house and and started a balze which nearly ended Jeff. Now, we wait to see what world pain Matt will inflict both outside and inside the ring as he continues to spin out of control. The Wrestling rumor, from insiders in the business, is that Matt will continue to channel his range toward the destruction of his brother. Will this range be Matt's key to a World Championship and to Hardy family domination?
